IT Support| You have a laptop that you use at both your work and your home offices, and because of this, you routinely print to multiple printers. However, you only have the ability to set one printer as the default, so you constantly have to make sure you switch back and forth between them depending on where you are. Well, you used to anyway.
One of the new features of Windows 7 is the ability to have "Location Aware Printing." This feature allows users of all editions of Windows 7 to setup simple rules for printing, which are dependent on the current network the PC is connected to. Simply put, when you are at home, your default printer will be set to the one at your house, and when you are in the office your default printer will automatically change to the one there.
The best part of this new feature is that you do not need your IT Support engineers to set this up. Here are the simple steps to set up the Location Aware Printing feature on your Windows 7 PC, or you can watch the short video tutorial.

To touch back on a blog we previously posted: Here at
Trigon Technology, we thought it was important to let you know that if your business is running any edition of Windows 2000 (Server or Professional) or Windows XP SP 2, you will soon need to make a change. July 13, 2010 will mark the end date of public support for all editions of Windows 2000 and Windows XP SP. As per Microsoft "This transition date marks the natural progression in the support of these products, and is in accordance with the Microsoft Support Lifecycle policy for Business and Developer products."
Upon public support for these products ending on July 13, 2010, "Microsoft will no longer provide any assisted support or security updates." If your business is running Windows 2000 you will need to upgrade to an alternative, supported product, such as Windows 7 and/or Windows Server 2008 R2. If you are running Windows XP SP2, you will need to upgrade to Windows XP SP3 or another supported product, such as Windows 7, in order to obtain support.
With the date approaching quickly, mark this end-of-support date on your calendar, and remember to contact
