Windows 7 gets an A, So Far…

Well, I have been using Windows 7 Ultimate version now for about 6 weeks and so far so good. I haven't had any major issues. Of course there are a few applications that aren't compatible with 7, but Microsoft has taken the compatibility mode one step further with the XP Compatibility mode feature. Basically, it's a Virtual PC instance of XP Pro with SP3 that you use to install the application that you want to use, once it's installed and configured in the Virtual PC you can then run it in XP Compatibility mode without having to run the Virtual PC. Pretty darn cool! The advanced security features are there as well, and they don't seem to be as invasive as they were in Vista. No sidebars or widgets, gizmos etc... Just a streamlined operating system that isn't nearly as resource heavy as Vista is. Right now , it's running on a 3+ year old Dell Latitude laptop with only 2 GB of RAM and a dingy single core processor, and it's been smooth!
Windows 7 release, now only being days away, will be to Vista as XP was to Windows ME. A dramatic improvement in its core functionality and ease of use... So, right now I am drinking the Windows 7 Kool Aid! OH Yeah!!!
