On May 20, 2010, the Citizens Crime Commission of the Delaware Valley celebrated the 29th annual Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.  Every year in May, during Police Week, the Citizens Crime Commission holds a luncheon honoring the Delaware Valley Law Enforcement officers at the local, state, and federal level.  The event is held in the Grand Ballroom of the Park Hyatt at the Bellevue, and select officers are presented awards for valor, bravery, heroism, outstanding police performance, and merit.

Philadelphia SEPTA Regional Train FireThis year, Trigon Technology a Philadelphia area IT Support company, is a proud sponsor of the Philadelphia Outstanding Police Performance Award, which was earned by Police Officer Jorge Alicea from the SEPTA Police Department.  Officer Alicea's quick action and disregard for his own safety resulted in the evacuation of SEPTA riders on a regional rail train filled with smoke and fire.  Thanks to his decisiveness, everyone on the train escaped unharmed.

Also awarded at the luncheon were Police Officer John Pawlowski of the Philadelphia Police Department and Detective Christopher Jones of the Middletown Township Police Department.  Both of these heroic men were awarded the Presidential Award for making the ultimate sacrifice.

Trigon would like to congratulate Officer Alicea and the rest of the awardees, and thank them along with all of the law enforcement personnel of the Delaware Valley.  We greatly appreciate all of your hard work and the sacrifices you and your families make to keep our citizens safe.
